Maple Ridge’s own S. Marshall Shupe II participated this past Sept 17-19, 2021 at the US World Cup Trials in Salt Lake City Utah. Top 5 would attend the Fall World Cup circuit in China, Japan, Hungary, and the Netherlands. The top 12 automatically have a spot to compete at the US Olympic Trials in Dec. 17-19, 2021. Shupe finished 15th overall which means he will have to participate in a 9 and 5 lap time trial the day before US Olympic Trials. The top 4 fastest skaters will be able to race at Olympic Trials.
